At Saint James, we offer American Sign Language interpretation of the Holy Mass every Sunday at 11 am. Our interpreters are trained so that they are able to communicate the actions and prayers of the Mass with precision and accuracy.

We are proud to be the first and only church in Brooklyn with ASL interpreted Masses every Sunday.

The Deaf community of Saint James benefits not only from being able to fully participate in the celebration of Mass but also to have the opportunity to connect with other Deaf Catholics at parish events.

Fr. Raphael Munday, the Coordinator of Disabilities and Deaf Ministry for Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, is available to assist the Deaf community with other services, such as Religious Education.
